Description

Markon’s partner company is seeking an experienced Systems Architect to join our program supporting a key IC government customer.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize issues within the system by leveraging significant experience with Python, Java, Automation, and Systems Design.
  • Identify relevant facts by utilizing a deep understanding and experience in Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google, IBM, Oracle).
  • Define additional data that would be helpful in addressing issues by designing solutions for complex applications and IT systems.
  • Make assumptions as necessary, providing strategic direction, roadmap, and standards to guide the team.
  • Determine alternative approaches by creating and maintaining architecture design and standards within the models.
  • Evaluate alternatives by developing high-level system specifications and providing Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) support.
  • Make recommendations by collaborating with Engineers regarding design solutions and evaluating current and emerging technologies.
  • Alter assumptions and rework solutions to adapt to new information and technologies, working independently with an aptitude for getting things done.
  • Reflect on lessons learned to develop future technology and architectural advancements that support the customers’ vision and goals.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • At least 11 years of relevant experience. 16+ years of experience can be considered at a higher level.
  • Must have significant experience with Python, Java, Automation and Systems Design.
  • Deep understanding/experience in Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google, IBM, Oracle) enabling you to design solutions answering the complex needs for multifaceted applications and IT systems.
  • Ability to provide strategic direction, roadmap and standard.
  • Creating and maintaining architecture design and standards within the models.
  • Ability to develop high-level system specifications.
  • Ability to provide Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) support.
  • Ability to collaborate with Engineers regarding design solutions.
  • Evaluate current and emerging technologies identifying solution impact.
  • Ability to work independently and possess an aptitude for getting things done.
  • Develop future technology and architectural advancements to support the customers’ vision and goals.
  • Knowledge of modern software languages (e.g., Python, Bash Scripting, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Salt, Terraform, Chef, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Containers (e.g., Dockers, Kubernetes).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with automated testing.
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Knowledge of Security Development Operations (SecDevOps) on iterative development projects.
  • Knowledge of web applications and frameworks (e.g., Ruby, Rails, Django, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code.
  • Knowledge of Agile development principles.

Salary Range

USD $180,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
