Description

Markon is the prime on an awarded and fully funded 5-year project in Lagos, Nigeria supporting Overseas Building Operations (OBO). We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who has at least a Secret clearance, an ABET accredited degree, and is ready to deploy to support new construction for a new consulate building. This soon to be 10-story building will be the largest U.S. consulate in the world!

Responsibilities

  • Providing Quality Assurance for ongoing construction project. 
  • Reviewing contractor submittals.  

  • Preparing responses to Requests for Information (RFI) for questions related to engineering. 

  • Evaluating proposed submittal substitutions with engineering implications; makes recommendations to the Project Director.

  • Coordinating the development of Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) for modifications and change orders.

  • Reviewing and evaluating design calculations and data from an engineering perspective.

  • Preparing Monthly Progress Report summarizing project status, with emphasis on engineering.

  • Reviewing contractor’s Requests for Equitable Adjustment and formulates written recommendations for consideration by the Project Director.

  • Other related duties as assigned by the Project Director. 

Qualifications

  • OCONUS government construction experience
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Mechanical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university. P.E. license will be considered in lieu of Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Professional registration is preferred, but not required.

  • Knowledge of International Codes required. 

Salary Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
