Description

Markon is looking for a Facilities Engineer to support one of our Intelligence Community customers. Facility Engineers provide professional engineering services in support of facility management, maintenance, and operation. 

Responsibilities

  • Interact with other contractors, government personnel, vendors, and other NGA personnel to coordinate and accomplish major facility improvements and alterations, as well as oversee and support facilities operations.
  • Prepare and monitor construction and maintenance projects in support of Fort Belvoir North Area (FBNA) current and future operations.
  • Develop and implement various engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates and designs for operations, maintenance, and support requirements to maintain NGA facilities.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering programs between campus partners, leading facility modifications, and conducting engineering studies related to developing specialized facilities with unique standards.
  • Coordinate between NGA, IC Partner(s), Fort Belvoir Garrison, and private industry on topics that will affect those stakeholders
  • Serve as point of contact between the Joint Program Management Office (JPMO) and multiple national energy laboratories in support of ongoing and future campus energy studies
  • Coordinate utility projects between NGA, Fort Belvoir DPW, and IC Partners
  • Provide rationale and impact assessments with any recommendations that could impact cost or schedule for planned or ongoing work
  • Provide technical expertise through construction and subsequent phases bringing facilities on-line for mission operations
  • Consult with other subject matter experts in NGA or across the IC on sensitive or complex issues that lack precedents in the context of an IC Campus
  • Assist in developing and implementing IC Campus operational requirements in your area of expertise to effectively support NGA and IC Partner requirements
  • Provide technical expertise to support development and implementation of the IC Campus on FBNA while preserving NGA’s capabilities
  • Assure adequate engineering features are included in engineering, design, and construction on the IC Campus with a focus on campus wide features, capabilities, and operational considerations to support all IC partners on-site

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management+12 years of directly correlated experience
  • Experience with Building or Facility plans, designs, configuration, and equipment maintenance
  • Knowledge of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Uptime Institute Data Center, ASHRAE and NEC Standards
  • Knowledge of building electrical and HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of utility scale water and electrical distribution systems
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills in a program or project management setting.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance

 

Desired:

  • Professional Engineer License
  • PMP certification
  • Experience working with NGA
  • Experience working with the IC
  • Demonstrated experience navigating ambiguity and proposing innovative solutions to technical issues
  • Customer Service experience in federal and or intelligence community

Salary Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
