Markon is seeking a Facility Electrical Engineer to support our NRO client at multiple locations across the US.
The ideal Facility Electrical Engineer will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:
Ensure facilities meet demand requirements (including appropriate margins) for power, space, and cooling.
Manage enterprise-level electrical infrastructure concerns to meet current and future mission needs.
Provide life cycle project management from planning and programming through acquisition, including advising leadership on funding strategies.
Review facility policies, processes, and standards; recommend changes to enhance effective electrical infrastructure management.
Identify and document electrical performance benchmarks to establish baselines for system reliability and efficiency.
Incorporate commercial best practices into NRO facilities to improve electrical system functionality.
Participate in facilities-related working groups and Integrated Process Teams (IPTs).
Advise on and draft policy changes for Facility Operating Directives and Instructions, emphasizing electrical system standardization.
Consolidate and develop technical and programmatic data for future electrical infrastructure acquisitions.
Assist with developing cost estimates for electrical projects in both tactical and strategic planning efforts.
Required:
High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree required (dependent on level)
2–10+ years of experience in electrical engineering or facility power systems
Demonstrated experience in life cycle project management for electrical infrastructure
Strong understanding of facility electrical systems, power distribution, and energy compliance standards
Desired:
Experience supporting NRO or other government facilities
Familiarity with mission-critical electrical systems for space or launch operations
Knowledge of DoD or IC facility engineering directives and electrical safety codes
