Description

Markon is seeking a Requirements Engineer to support our NGA client out of Springfield, VA.

Responsibilities

The ideal Requirements Engineer will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:

  • Capture and translate mission and customer requirements into testable system capabilities and services.

  • Decompose and allocate strategic-level requirements from documents such as ECDs, SOCs, ICBDs, CDDs, and Agency CONOPS.

  • Analyze and trace program/project requirements using Joint Architecture Reference Models (JARM) and Technical Service Types (TSTs).

  • Develop and maintain a Requirements Traceability Verification Matrix (RTVM) to ensure proper allocation and testing.

  • Interface with NGA’s Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) system.

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across NGA segments, acquisition offices, and technical teams.

  • Align engineering artifacts and documentation with NGA’s CIO-T strategy and requirements process.

  • Support implementation of strategic plans and mission needs through coordination with senior stakeholders.

  • Develop and manage program performance measures and business cases.

  • Identify and analyze service gaps, support architectural decision-making, and contribute to invest/divest strategies.

  • Guide mid- and junior-level Requirements Engineers and provide mentorship on requirements development best practices.

  • Ensure leadership is informed of risks, issues, and opportunities in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Required:

  • TS/SCI clearance, preferably with a CI poly from this client.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, MIS, or a related STEM discipline (or equivalent additional experience).

  • Senior-level or higher experience in Requirements Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Experience performing requirements tracing to source materials such as JARM and associated technical models.

  • Proven ability to coordinate with stakeholders to capture Sensor program requirements supporting evolving mission needs.

  • Previous work supporting NGA, NSG/ASG, IC, or DoD programs or projects.

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in a related STEM discipline.

  • Knowledge of the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) mission and Intelligence Community (IC) priorities.

  • Familiarity with NGA’s Request for Change (RFC) process and NGA program requirements lifecycle.

  • Experience in agile development methodologies (e.g., scrums, user stories, epics, lean business cases).

  • Prior Scrum Master experience.

  • Proficiency with requirements management tools such as DOORS Next Generation (DOORS NG).

  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Tableau for tracking progress and documentation.

Salary Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
