Description

Markon is seeking System Engineers to support our NRO client from Chantilly, VA.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will perform systems integration and engineering in support of complex interrelated system acquisitions, with a particular focus on national security space programs. Key duties include:

  • Lead and support systems integration/engineering across multiple enterprise domains including: cloud services, software service platforms, DevSecOps, data management, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and enterprise governance

  • Work collaboratively across organizations and system boundaries to design, document, validate, and deliver architectures and ground capabilities in support of the national space architecture

  • Conduct architecture definition, requirements gathering, derivation, and allocation

  • Develop performance metrics, test cases, and trace requirements to closure

  • Provide traditional systems integration and engineering support such as schedule management, risk management, configuration management, and test/validation support

  • Translate formal requirements into user stories and statements of work for agile teams

  • Facilitate Agile-based program management and implementation of MBSE practices

  • Engage with national and tactical intelligence communities to capture and integrate end-user and stakeholder needs

Qualifications

Required:
Entry-Level:

  • 0–3 years of experience with a Bachelor’s in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

    • OR 7 years with a High School Diploma/GED

    • OR 5 years with an Associate degree

Intermediate-Level:

  • 4–7 years of experience with a Master’s in a related field

    • OR 10 years with a High School Diploma/GED

    • OR 8 years with an Associate degree

    • OR 6 years with a Bachelor’s degree

Senior-Level:

  • 8+ years of experience with a Doctorate in a related field

    • OR 16 years with a High School Diploma/GED

    • OR 14 years with an Associate degree

    • OR 12 years with a Bachelor’s degree

    • OR 10 years with a Master’s degree

AND

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Counter-Intelligence Polygraph (preferrably with this client)
  • Demonstrated systems intergration and engineering expertise supporting interrelated systems acquisitions greater than $50M

  • Experience supporting architecture definition, requirements allocation, test planning, performance metric design, and requirement closure

  • Proficiency in systems engineering disciplines such as risk, requirements, configuration, schedule management, or testing

Desired:

  • Master’s or PhD in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related field

  • Professional certifications such as DAWIA, INCOSE, PMP, MBSE (e.g., OCSMP SysML Model Builder Intermediate), or Agile certifications

  • Experience with multiple interrelated satellite ground system acquisitions

  • Intelligence Community (IC) experience within the past 5 years

  • Familiarity with systems engineering tools such as IBM RDNG/DOORS, Rhapsody, SysML, Confluence, Jira, or JSMART

  • Experience supporting digital engineering and data engineering practices

  • Deep understanding of how MBSE enables system design, analysis, verification, and validation across the digital engineering lifecycle

Salary Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.
