Description

Markon is seeking an Instructional System Designer to support our NRO client from Chantilly, VA.

Responsibilities

The ideal Instructional System Designer will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:

  • Provide skills-based training to users on NRO and Mission Partner equipment, data processors, and software/hardware applications

  • Provide training using post-event data and product analysis for specific user issues when required

  • Provide training on how to apply NRO and related equipment, data, and applications to specific threats or regional issues when required

  • Recommend training requirements in the areas of NRO equipment and applications use and proficiency for military professional development centers and schools, operational units, and national agencies

  • Design and develop instructional material using ADDIE and SAM models to create engaging and interactive learning experiences

  • Meet regularly with stakeholders to gather information, discuss innovative delivery methods, and incorporate feedback throughout the development process

  • Evaluate learning effectiveness using models such as the Kirkpatrick Model and implement improvements based on analysis

  • Design products that are Section 508 compliant and SCORM-conformant

  • Work collaboratively with a team of instructional designers, graphic artists, and developers in a fast-paced, client-focused consulting environment

Qualifications

Required:
Entry-Level:

  • 0–3 years of experience with a Bachelor’s in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

    • OR 7 years with a High School Diploma/GED

    • OR 5 years with an Associate degree

Intermediate-Level:

  • 4–7 years of experience with a Master’s in a related field

    • OR 10 years with a High School Diploma/GED

    • OR 8 years with an Associate degree

    • OR 6 years with a Bachelor’s degree

Senior-Level:

  • 8+ years of experience with a Doctorate in a related field

    • OR 16 years with a High School Diploma/GED

    • OR 14 years with an Associate degree

    • OR 12 years with a Bachelor’s degree

    • OR 10 years with a Master’s degree

AND

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Counter-Intelligence Polygraph

  • Experience designing training programs based on thorough needs analysis

  • Experience designing Section 508 compliant and SCORM-conformant products

  • Experience developing learning solutions for Intelligence Community agencies

  • Proficiency with rapid development tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Presenter

Desired:

  • Master’s or PhD in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • Project Management Certification (PMP)

  • Familiarity with NRO distance learning platforms

  • Familiarity with the NRO’s and DoD’s national and tactical space architectures

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work flexible schedules

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience collaborating within cross-functional instructional design teams

  • Willingness to travel as needed

Salary Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $240,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
