Description

Markon is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Engineer to support a key program within the Intelligence Community (IC). This role requires a strong background in data engineering and integration, with a focus on normalizing and standardizing data from diverse sources to support advanced analytical methodologies. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing the program’s ability to leverage varied data sets and emerging analytic capabilities to address mission-critical objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate data from a broad range of data sets with differing formats and tagging standards.
  • Normalize and standardize data for use in AI/ML-enabled analytical methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather data requirements and facilitate seamless integration.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout all stages of the data integration lifecycle.
  • Stay abreast of emerging data engineering tools, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor and guide non-technical team members on data engineering methodologies and integration strategies.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for data integration procedures and workflows.



Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating data from disparate sources with varying formats and tagging conventions.
  • Deep understanding of data normalization, standardization, and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency with data processing platforms such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong coding skills in Python and SQL, and experience with ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, or equivalent.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior experience supporting the Intelligence Community or other government agencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AI/ML-based analytical methodologies and emerging data science capabilities.

 

Salary Range

USD $170,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
