Description

Markon is seeking a highly experienced and innovative AI Engineer to support a mission-critical program within the Intelligence Community (IC). The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in artificial intelligence, data science, or software engineering, and will be adept at applying advanced analytical techniques and agentic data discovery methodologies. This role is focused on enhancing data exploitation capabilities and reducing dependency on manual data processing to support national security objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage advanced analytical techniques and agentic data discovery methodologies to analyze complex, disparate data sources across the Intelligence Community and other government entities.

  • Design, develop, and implement AI/ML solutions to facilitate data aggregation and uncover emerging national security threats.

  • Enhance the program’s capacity to process and exploit large-scale datasets, identifying critical correlations and threat vectors.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand mission requirements and deliver AI-driven solutions that align with program goals.

  • Remain current with cutting-edge AI/ML technologies, frameworks, and best practices to drive continuous innovation.

  • Mentor and support non-technical team members in understanding AI/ML methodologies and implementation strategies.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for AI/ML models, algorithms, and operational workflows.

 

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in AI, data science, or software engineering.

  • Deep expertise in advanced analytical techniques and agentic data discovery methodologies.

  • Demonstrated experience integrating data from multiple agencies, sectors, or disparate data sources.

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML tools, models, and algorithms.

  • Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or equivalent AI/ML technologies.

  • Familiarity with data platforms including Hadoop, Spark, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in high-tempo, dynamic environments.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present findings and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Prior experience supporting the Intelligence Community or similar government entities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of national security threats and data exploitation strategies.

  • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.

 

Salary Range

USD $180,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
