Markon is seeking a Specialized Engineer lll to join our team in West Mifflin, PA supporting a government customer!
Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university with at least 10 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
Experience leading and executing laboratory operations in a productive, timely, and compliant manner.
Ability to develop, test, evaluate, and qualify repair procedures in the laboratory, as well as consult with fabrication vendors and shipyards.
Knowledge of repair operations such as gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding, shielded metal arc welding, epoxies/composites, and mechanical/machining processes.
Ability to develop and interpret specifications, drawings, and engineering standards.
Strong skills in planning and executing technical programs, designing experiments, analyzing results, and preparing technical reports.
Experience making technical presentations and communicating results effectively.
Desired:
Experience with automated or mechanized gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).
Demonstrated acumen in executing laboratory-based work.
Familiarity with inspection methods.
Strong individual initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability.
