Description

Markon is seeking a Senior-Level Field Engineer to support our Intelligence Customer from Herndon, VA.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will perform (but not limited to) the following duties:

  • Responsible for the technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced staff
  • Planning, preparation, and execution of all projects
  • Deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, edge switches, telecommunications systems, UPS systems, and desktop PC hardware in support of customer operations
  • Evaluate data centers for the installation of equipment
  • Install applicable equipment (with racks if needed)
  • Perform onsite testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineers
  • Install and connect applicable cables
  • Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; or if no degree, 8-10 years of related experience performing engineering functions on programs of similar size, scope, and complexity.
  • 8+ years as an engineer supporting technical programs
  • Experience in IP Related Services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP
  • Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches
  • Experience with commercial PBX and associated telephones, VOIP/data telephony
  • Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems, to include installation/connection
  • Working knowledge of CAT 5 and CAT 6 cable, connectors, and demonstrated capability of fabricating required equipment
  • Experience working with SONET rings and associated hardware
  • Experience using Remedy, VISIO, and MS Office

Salary Range

USD $160,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
