Markon is seeking a Industrial Hygienist to join our team in Ballston Spa, NY supporting a government customer!
Perform sampling and monitoring for occupational hazards such as asbestos, silica, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), welding fumes, and noise (area measurements and dosimetry).
Review and interpret industrial hygiene data to evaluate potential exposures and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Assess site processes, procedures, and historical IH data to ensure compliance with safety and health standards.
Calibrate and maintain IH sampling equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of measurements.
Prepare detailed reports and maintain documentation of findings, sampling results, and exposure evaluations.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop hazard mitigation strategies and ensure regulatory compliance.
Assist with general industrial hygiene work, applying professional judgment to support exposure determinations and risk assessments.
Promote a culture of health and safety through proactive hazard identification and communication with the workforce.
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, or a related scientific or engineering field from an accredited college or university.
Demonstrated experience in industrial hygiene sampling and equipment calibration.
Strong interpersonal and teaming skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to perform duties in an industrial environment, including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, and working in areas with restricted access.
ABIH Certification (CIH) preferred, but not required.
Experience in nuclear, heavy construction, chemical, or industrial process facilities.
Familiarity with industrial hygiene exposure assessment processes and sampling techniques.
Knowledge of industrial safety and health regulations and standards.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
