Description

Markon is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing network systems. This role is responsible for full lifecycle management of network infrastructure, from integration and testing to deployment and ongoing operations. The ideal candidate will be adept at researching, validating, and deploying modern commercial technologies, with a strong focus on performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring operational reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and maintain enterprise network systems with a focus on security, scalability, and performance.
  • Support full lifecycle management of network infrastructure, including planning, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Research, test, and validate commercial network technologies for enterprise adoption.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex WAN, LAN, and client access issues to ensure network efficiency.
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, VPN concentrators, and load balancers.
  • Monitor and optimize networks for high availability and operational reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale and implement internally developed network solutions.
  • Provide documentation, reporting, and knowledge transfer to ensure continuity of operations.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
  • Hands-on experience with managed attribution networking and commercial cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Recent (within 3 years) experience with WAN, LAN, and client access technologies.
  • Recent (within 5 years) experience configuring and supporting firewalls, VPN concentrators, and load balancers.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills for resolving complex network issues.
  • Understanding of high availability technologies and deployment strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, sensitive network infrastructures.
  • Skilled in using SIEM platforms and security analytics tools for monitoring and threat detection.
  • Expertise in managed attribution networking to support secure and anonymous operations.

Salary Range

USD $150,000.00 - USD $210,000.00 /Yr.
