Description

Markon's partner company is looking for a Network Engineer to support our Fort Meade Customer.

Responsibilities

  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
  • Manage and troubleshoot multi-vendor network infrastructure, including Cisco ISO and Arista EOS environments.
  • Monitor and optimize performance for IPv4/IPv6 networks.
  • Analyze and resolve network issues using diagnostic tools, including Wireshark.
  • Maintain and update network documentation, including configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and integrity of network systems through routine monitoring and testing.
  • Collaborate with system administrators and security teams to ensure seamless integration between network and host systems across Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Provide support for network upgrades, patching, and migrations as required.

Qualifications

  • TS/SCI with Active Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering).

  • 7+ years of professional experience in network engineering or a related discipline.

  • Proficient with Cisco ISO and Arista EOS network operating systems.

  • Strong knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 networking protocols and architectures.

  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.

  • Hands-on experience with network analysis tools such as Wireshark.

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Preferred:

  • Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Arista ACE).
  • Familiarity with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Experience in enterprise or government IT environments.

Salary Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
