Markon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / AI-Enabled Systems Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of high-performance, mission-critical systems for the Fort Meade Customer. The Software Engineer will bring deep experience in AI/ML integration, cloud-based infrastructure, and large-scale data processing, with a strong background in modern programming languages and performance-optimized applications.

• Design, develop, and integrate AI/ML-enabled software solutions to support mission analytics and operational systems.
• Develop and maintain high-performance applications, including GPU-accelerated solutions, to process and analyze large data sets.
• Design and implement large-scale, streaming data analytics systems supporting real-time or near-real-time processing.
• Develop software using C++, Python, and/or Golang, following secure coding and performance optimization best practices.
• Provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform within AWS environments.
• Integrate software components into distributed and cloud-native system architectures.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, data scientists, and operations teams to translate mission requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical evaluations.
• Support documentation of system designs, software architecture, and development processes.

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus 14 years of relevant experience.
• Required experience with AI/ML development or integration in operational or production environments.
• Required experience using Terraform with AWS for infrastructure automation.
• Strong programming experience in C++, Python, and/or Golang.
• Experience developing high-performance and GPU-enabled applications.
• Experience supporting large-scale, streaming data analytics systems.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and performance optimization techniques.
• Ability to work independently in secure, mission-focused environments and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders.

USD $210,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
