Description

Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 3 to serve as a senior technical authority providing systems engineering leadership for highly complex, mission-critical systems of systems. This position will define engineering strategies, lead advanced analytical efforts, and integrate data science and machine learning capabilities into enterprise-level system architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership and technical direction for systems engineering efforts across large, complex programs.
  • Lead analysis, design, and integration of complex systems of systems, ensuring technical coherence and mission alignment.
  • Define and oversee engineering approaches that incorporate data science, NLP, and machine learning capabilities.
  • Direct large-scale data extraction, processing, and analysis from unstructured and semi-structured sources.
  • Evaluate and guide selection of ML models, analytic frameworks, and visualization approaches for optimized performance.
  • Oversee development of advanced analytics using Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and related technologies.
  • Provide authoritative guidance to Government stakeholders, senior engineers, and program leadership.
  • Ensure technical integrity, quality, and completeness of systems engineering deliverables.
  • Mentor engineers across all levels and establish best practices for systems engineering and data-driven analysis.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI W/ Polygraph with this Customer
  • Twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity,
    OR Five (5) additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven experience planning, leading, and governing large-scale systems engineering efforts.
  • Deep expertise in systems-of-systems engineering, data science, NLP, and machine learning.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, R, and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Extensive experience with unstructured data extraction tools (e.g., Apache Tika, PDFMiner).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, government leadership, and technical teams

Salary Range

USD $200,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
