Description

Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer with strong Agile experience to support and optimize team workflows across the organization. This role focuses on driving Agile best practices, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and managing Jira to enable efficient, high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

Agile Leadership & Facilitation

  • Drive the effective adoption and use of Agile methodologies across all teams
  • Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies, including:
    • Daily stand-ups to promote communication and alignment
    • Sprint planning sessions to establish achievable goals
    • Sprint reviews to gather stakeholder feedback
    • Program Increment (PI) planning to align quarterly objectives
    • Retrospectives to support continuous improvement
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members on Agile principles and best practices

Project Coordination & Execution

  • Identify and resolve project blockers, including unclear requirements, tooling issues, and cross-team dependencies
  • Promote collaboration and resolve conflicts across teams and stakeholders
  • Ensure teams remain focused on priorities and deliverables

Jira Administration & Optimization

  • Develop and manage Jira boards, including stories, epics, dependencies, risks, and Minimum Viable Increments (MVIs)
  • Design and maintain Jira dashboards, filters, and data access configurations
  • Create and manage Jira plans to support team goals and program visibility

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
  • Strong experience with Agile frameworks, including SAFe and/or Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS)
  • Extensive experience using Jira for task management, backlog tracking, and reporting
  • Understanding of AWS services and Information System Security principles
  • Proven ability to foster communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution across teams
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues impacting team productivity and delivery
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation
  • Agile certification (e.g., SAFe, Scrum Master, or equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
    OR 19 years of total relevant experience, including 16 years of directly related experience

Salary Range

USD $170,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
